Environmental Science Learning Resources

KBOCC provides a fully equipped science lab to support students in the Environmental Science program. Program specific equipment includes tools for measurement and sampling of environmental resources.  The College also provides a GIS lab which houses a plotter and five computer stations equipped with ArcView and GPS units.

Environmental Science program internships are made available from tribal, federal, and state agencies.  Environmental Science internships may be acquired through KBOCC placements or through external sources.  Internships provide a 'real world' testing ground for classroom ideas and integrate academic principles with an understanding of the realities of professional practice and/or research.  The College monitors internships to ensure that students receive appropriate and varied learning experiences. KBOCC students also participate in research programs with faculty and graduate students at Michigan Technological University.
